On September 28, 2006, the Center was awarded its Five Year Sustainability Funding. The WBC of NYS was one of 13 Women’s Business Centers to receive this funding.

Genesis Disposables, LLC receives Certification as Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE)
In 2002, Ms. Zennamo founded Genesis Disposables, LLC a manufacturer of disposable medical caps, gowns, and other related surgical products sold across the country through medical and hospital supply distributors. As majority owner, President, and CEO, Joanne Zennamo takes an active role in overseeing the business, which came about from a smaller company’s reorganization that she financed through $100,000 in personal assets and funding from family members.
